The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is a recruitment body that was started with an aim to encourage the recruitment and placement of young graduates in public sector banks in India, other than the State Bank Of India. IBPS exam eligibility

The educational qualification required for IBPS RRB PO exam is a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized by Central Government. The eligibility criteria for the IBPS Clerk exam is as follows:

1) Nationality: A candidate must be either a Citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan or Tibetan refugees.

2) Age Limit: The minimum age limit for IBPS Clerk is 20 years and the maximum age limit is 28 years.

3) Education Qualifications: A candidate should have passed a graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university to appear in this exam.

4) Computer Literacy: A candidate should have computer knowledge as it is essential to work in banks.

5) Language Proficiency: An aspirant must be able to read, write and speak the official language of the state from where he/she has applied.

IBPS exam apply online

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection invites applications for the post of Probationary Officers. Candidates who are interested in the IBPS PO post can apply online from the official website from August to September. The recruitment is being conducted for the selection and allotment of personnel for probationary officer posts in banks participating in the recruitment process. A total of 3562 vacancies have been announced by the IBPS.

4. Upload your scanned photograph and signature and click on Confirm button

5. After successful registration, take a printout of the online application form

IBPS exam pattern

The exam pattern of IBPS PO/MT is divided into 3 phases: Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Interview.

Preliminary Exam: The preliminary exam will consist of three sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability. The total time duration for this exam will be 1 hour (60 minutes). The total number of questions will be 100 and each question shall carry 1 mark. There shall be a negative marking for every wrong answer. One fourth or 0.25 of the mark assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty to arrive at a corrected score.

Mains Exam: The Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Tests for 25 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer the Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Descriptive Test has been introduced to assess writing skills of candidates which are important while performing the job of Probationary Officer/ Management Trainee etc

Interview: Candidates who clear the mains exam are called for an interview which is conducted by a panel of bank officials. The total weightage of the interview is 100 marks.

IBPS Admit Card

The IBPS PO admit card will be out in the second half of September. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has released the notification for IBPS PO 2022 examination. The admit card will be available online mode on the official website. It is expected that the IBPS PO admit card will be available at least two weeks before the exam date. The candidates who have successfully applied for this recruitment drive can download their IBPS PO admit card from here. The candidates must carry their admit cards to the examination hall. No candidate will be allowed to appear for the exam without a valid admit card.

Along with the IBPS Admit Card, you also have to carry an original photo identity proof (Aadhar, Voter id, etc.) and a passport-sized photograph.

IBPS marking Scheme

Candidates must know that there is a negative marking for each wrong answer in the IBPS PO Mains exam in both objective and descriptive papers. The candidates are required to score the minimum qualifying marks in each section and overall too. If they do not score the minimum qualifying marks, they will not be eligible for the next stage of the recruitment process.

For Objective Type Questions: There are four sections in the objective type questions in IBPS PO exam – English Language, Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, and General Economy & Banking Awareness. Each section has a total of 50 questions for a total of 200 questions carrying 200 marks. Each question carries one mark and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong attempt.

For Descriptive Paper: The descriptive test carries 50 marks with 30 minutes duration. A candidate has to write an essay of 250-300 words and Letter/ Application writing of 150-200 words. The descriptive paper carries 25% weightage (50 marks) in the mains exam.

IBPS Salary Structure

The scorecard obtained in IBPS CWE-PO exam is applicable for the post of Probationary Officer/ Management Trainee. The selected candidates initially undergo training of 1 year after which they are absorbed in the regular services.

The salary structure is as follows:

Basic Pay of Rs 23700/-

Dearness Allowance (DA) @ 44.90% of Basic pay i.e. Rs 10557/-

House Rent Allowance (HRA) – 9% of Basic pay i.e. Rs 2141/-

City Compensatory Allowance (CCA) – 3% (4% for Mumbai)  i.e. Rs 711/-

Special Allowance @ 7.75% on basic pay i.e. Rs 1816/-

Personal Pay- Rs 2000/- per month

Total Gross Salary around Rs 38000/- per month before deductions

Apart from the basic pay, IBPS Clerks get some allowances as well that are listed below:

Dearness Allowance – Dearness Allowance (DA) is calculated as a percentage of an Indian citizen’s basic salary to mitigate the impact of inflation on people. DA is calculated based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI). 

Special Allowance – It is 7.75% of basic pay and is given to all bank employees due to a special agreement between Indian Banks Association (IBA) and bank unions for special allowance. 

House Rent Allowance – HRA is given to compensate for the rent an employee pays for his/her residence. Its rate varies depending on the city/town category where an employee lives. In X category
