Stock Market Today

In line with consistent worldwide market trends, stock markets closed Tuesday in the black for the third straight day. The benchmark 30-share BSE price increased 549.62 points to end the day at 58,960.60. Similar to this, towards the end of the day, the larger NSE Nifty rose 175.15 points to 17,486.95. State Bank of India (SBI), Nestle India, and ITC were the biggest gainers in the Sensex Today 19 Oct 2022 pack. HDFC and NTPC, on the other hand, were among the top laggards.

Sensex Today 

The Nifty finished close to 17500 as Indian benchmark indexes had a positive closing result for the third straight day. At 58,960.60, the BSE Sensex Today 19 Oct 2022 finished 549.62 points or 0.94% higher.

The Nifty50 closed at 17,487, up 175 points or 1%, while the S&P BSE Sensex Today 19 Oct 2022 closed at 58,961, up 550 points or 0.94 percent. The indexes reached respective intraday highs of 59,144 and 17,528.

Nifty50

On the daily charts, the domestic equity index Nifty created a bullish candle with a lengthy upper shadow today as it closed above the 17,450 level. Support-based purchasing was observed at important support zones of 17,442 and kept the index at higher zones. 

The momentum indicator RSI was increasing and in a bullish crossing, suggesting a strong momentum in the short term. Supports are located at 17,350 and 17,250 zones, and it must now hold above 17,442 zones to move upward toward 17650 and 17,777 zones, according to Chandan Taparia of Motilal Oswal. Data from options trading suggests a change in the trading range from 17,000 to 17,800 zones, with an immediate trading range from 17200 to 17700 zones.

Dow Jones Today

Tuesday saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average rise by more than 600 points before giving back some of those gains as Goldman Sachs and Johnson & Johnson published their quarterly profits and the world’s stock markets had solid increases. After the market closes, Netflix is expected to release its profits.

Following Tuesday’s opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by roughly 600 points or 1.8%. Tesla, Target (TGT), and Etsy (ETSY) were trading toward the top of the list as the S&P 500 increased by 1.8%. The heavily tech-focused Nasdaq composite gained 1.9% in morning trading.

DAX Index

After the market closed on Monday, Germany’s equities rose as increases in the retail, industrials, and financial services sectors drove up stock prices.

The MDAX index increased by 2.91%, the TecDAX index increased by 1.85%, and the DAX index increased by 1.70% to reach a new record high at the closing in Frankfurt.

Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which increased 5.25% or 1.06 points to conclude trading at 21.26 on the DAX, was the session’s top performer. Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) was up 3.56% or 4.06 points to 118.18 in late trade, and Zalando SE (ETR: ZALG) gained 4.48% or 1.00 points to close at 23.31.

Nasdaq Index

Due to poor investor mood in the face of high inflation and rising interest rates, the Nasdaq Composite has fallen well into the bear market zone. In fact, the tech-heavy index has fallen by 34% from its peak, which is a steeper loss than in the previous ten years.

Bank Nifty Today

The Bank Nifty index closed over the mark of 40,000 as it maintained a solid upward trend. The index is projected to rise toward the levels of 41,000–41,500, and any declines should be met with a purchase strategy. Now that the lower-end base has been moved up toward 39,500, fresh put writing has been seen there.

S and P 500

For the day, the S&P 500 rose 2.65%. The Nasdaq increased by 3.43% as tech stocks rallied, driven by businesses including Amazon, Meta Platforms, and Microsoft. It was the tech-heavy index’s best day since July 27.

SGX Nifty

SGX Nifty indicates a promising beginning. The Singapore Exchange’s Nifty futures traded 149.5 points, or 0.86 percent, higher at 17,464.50, indicating that Dalal Street will have a good Monday.

Crude Oil Futures

Tuesday’s early Asian trading saw oil prices remain stable as the U.S. dollar declined, but gains were constrained by increased shale output and worry that persistently high inflation would push the global economy into recession.

Benchmark Brent crude for international oil prices was down 0.65% at USD 91.02 per barrel. According to exchange statistics, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) continued to be net sellers on Monday in the Indian capital market, selling shares worth Rs 372.03 crore.

Gold Silver Price

According to HDFC Securities, gold prices in the nation’s capital dropped Rs 10 to Rs 50,783 per 10 kilos on Tuesday as the rupee appreciated. The precious metal had previously traded at a price of Rs 50,793 for 10 grammes. However, the price of silver increased by Rs 774, to Rs 57,064, from Rs 56,290 per kg.
