The private schools are subsidized by private donors, but the government pays for the students’ education. A GDS student is not going to be able to get rich in India easily but he will get volunteering opportunities in his career.

Gram Dak Sevak (GDS) is a national exam that all young Indians must pass to get a job. It is administered twice a year, in the spring and the autumn.it helps you study better.

The GDS works like this: you make your way through school until you are 14 years old. In your last year of school, you take one test. If you pass, you go on to high school; if you don’t, you go to work in the village.

There are usually only two or three villages where this happens; class 10th is the one everyone goes to because it’s good for jobs.

If you fail the test, you get an “F” for your college application. If you retake it after two years, it counts as a second chance, and if you fail then too it’s an F for your college application.

Eventually, almost everyone passes; in fact, there are students who get three tries. But most pass when they’re still in grade school – which means their grades are less than C.
