Ayurvedic principles are based on the theory that all matter in the universe is made up of five elements; Ether, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth. These five elements are called panchamahabhutas.
Every individual has a unique combination of these five elements which determine their health. The state of balance between these elements determines good health while an imbalance results in disease. Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medical Sciences (BAMS) is an undergraduate degree program in the field of Ayurveda.
The duration of the program is 5 1/2 years and it includes 1 year of internship. Admission to the BAMS course is done on basis of the score obtained by a candidate in their 12th standard examination.
The BAMS course includes the study of subjects like Sanskrit, anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, forensic medicine, surgery, and obstetrics & gynecology. 5. Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) as career options
Homeopathy is a system of alternative medicine created in 1796 by Samuel Hahnemann, based on his doctrine of like cures like (similia similibus curentur), a claim that a substance that causes the symptoms of a disease in healthy people would cure similar symptoms in sick people.
